From Fitgourmet to Ceylan Ayik, my new journey...
Here is the The Short Story of “Journey From Corporate Life to Yoga &Nutrition Coaching”
Five years ago when we moved to Geneva, quit my job and became an “expat wife” I started the Fitgourmet blog due to a new approach in my life regarding nutrition and lifestyle. Back then, I was beginning to understand how vital good food and exercise were to keep my family both healthy and happy.
My passion for this new lifestyle led me to studying at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition where I became a qualified Health Coach in 2015.
That same year I began to feel a deep connection with yoga. Not only is this practice great for calmer mind and flexible-stronger body but, along with good nutrition, yoga enables to keep up with your wellness goals. The connection between food and exercise led me to expand my coaching skills to help people reach their overall wellness goals; and thus, my yoga journey began!
In January 2016, I received my first 200-hour teaching certificate. I specialised in Power Yoga which is a perfect combination of stretching, cardio-strengthening and relaxation. My students and coaching clients have been enjoying this type of exercise; discovering a new way to improve their bodies.
Whilst I was training in India; I felt the epiphany of yoga. Previously it had been an exercise I had just enjoyed and felt good for, but I finally began to understand how it draws the connection of mind, body and spirit. The journey is ongoing; I started with the body and I’m slowly discovering the spirit – but a long path still awaits for the mind and beyond!
Another turning point
My training in India became another turning point in my life. It came after a very difficult year in which I experienced struggles with illnesses, family matters, and losing my father.
Many of us find ourselves in stressful periods and going through these helps us to realise what matters; who we are and what we want to do or do not want to do. I am still working on these questions and hope that I will always have new dreams to chase!
A Healthy, Happy Life
I think this is what most of us aim and dream for ourselves and our loved ones. My aim as a health coach and yoga teacher is to contribute to these dreams and help people reach their wellness goals.
My life changed from being a career-driven marketing professional to a food blogger, then on to health coaching and now to being a committed yoga teacher/student. I am now driven by a passion for a healthy gourmet lifestyle.
New Logo, New Website
Welcome to my new website! I hope you will enjoy its new logo, recipes, workshops, programmes and upcoming online events.
My new logo – with its colours and lotus flower design – represents what is and has been going on in my life recently.
My dear ‘Fitgourmet’ will remain as my diary-blog. Here I shall keep on sharing new adventures, discoveries and stories. I am still very much behind my motto “Enjoy Being Fit and Gourmet”.
Now I shall be adding new chapters beyond the body; focusing on our spiritual side and gaining a calmer mind.
I would like to thank my dear Angel, coach and friend Marie, who not only created this website but has supported and guided me all the time. I feel so lucky and grateful that I met her here in Switzerland.
To my dear friend Arkan and his agency which designed my new logo and created a beautiful guideline for the visual works. They created my previous logo ‘Fitgourmet’ of which I am still in love! Thank you so much for your support in my journey.
And as always, thanks to my family for being so patient and supportive in everything I do; in every decision we make; and for every evening that I am exhausted and in bed before everyone else!!
Here is my new Website and please, please give me some feedback on how you like it; suggestions; areas for improvement … anything you feel!
Hugs from Geneva!
